Shin Munen Ryu Kenjutsu is a sword focused martial art based in Tokyo, Japan.
Shin Munen Ryu is a Koryu based kenjutsu system. This style of sword derives from the Edo period.
Currently Shin Munen Ryu (The new school of no-mind) focuses on the long sword, katana and short sword(wakizashi). Kenjutsu, kumi-iai (paired forms), kata are taught as well as use of the real sword in Iaijutsu. Wooden and metal swords are used. The headquarters in currently the Renshinkan in Tokyo, Japan.
Our emphasis is on correct technique and understanding. An open mind and heart are valuable to learning the marital arts. Although we are learning sword combat the value of learning is to help ourselves and society become a better place.

The school is lead by its head instructor and founder, Steven F. Radzikowski in Tokyo. Training in Tai Chi Chuan since 1993 and the Japanese arts of Kendo, Kenjutsu and Iaijutsu since 2003.
Shindo Munen Ryu and Shinto Munen Ryu are similar in techniques from the 1700’s.
